With tonight’s approval of Proposition 54, California voters have once again sent a message to the State Legislature that not only do we value transparency in government, but we expect it. During the past 10 years, California Forward has worked tirelessly towards restoring the public’s trust in government by advocating for reforms that make government more open and encourage greater participation, like the 72-hour-in-print rule. Proposition 54 is another good step in the direction of making sure how government functions is worthy of all of us.
