Before the Great Recession hit, Orange County was at 3 percent unemployment, one of lowest rates in state. That number jumped to 10 percent during height of recession. It currently sits at 8 percent. And Orange County added 25,000 jobs just last year. These stats came from Dr. Wallace Walrod chief economic strategist for Orange County Business Council, which put on the Orange County Regional Economic Forum this week.
