The two remaining candidates for California governor squared off in a debate Thursday night. Despite being the first, and likely only, gubernatorial debate of the election season, few Californians were expected to tune in. That’s a shame; these public sparring is beneficial tools for both candidates and voters. In addition to providing voters with an opportunity to learn more about the candidates, debates offer candidates a platform to reach voters and spread their message.
