Brian Lin

Brian is a rising senior at Encinal High School in Alameda. Having been involved in local and state-wide advocacy work, he has a strong passion for youth and leadership, specifically around student representation, “I believe that student voices are crucial to the success of a school district. Their collectiveness elicits change and decision making on a level that could potentially heal, transform, and empower the lives of communities” he says.

Brian will be serving his third term as the student board member for Alameda Unified School District for the 2021 to 2022 school year. As the first director and chair of the Expansion committee, also known as the Take a Seat Campaign of the California Student Board Member Association, he works to strengthen student advocacy in districts across the state that lack youth representation.

Brian is grateful to be a part of YLAC and have the opportunity to work with a brilliant and dedicated cohort of young leaders who share the same passions of building a healthier, equitable, and inclusive California for all.
