Alex Walker-Griffin is a Bay Area native, hailing from Hercules, California. His passion for public service began at the age of 10 and has not slowed down. He has served in numerous leadership roles from his two-terms as student body president at Contra Costa College to his contributions on the Board of Directors for the Hercules Education Foundation.
At 19, he was appointed by Governor Brown to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and was one of the founding members of Calbright College. Alex has worked in a variety of spaces from the office Richmond City Council to the Platinum Advisors. He currently serves as the Chief Lobbyist for March For Our Lives, California, and during his tenure, he has successfully advocated for dozens of gun prevention measures.
In November, of 2020 he was elected to the Hercules City Council. In just a few months, he has been recognized for his leadership and outside-the-box thinking. Currently, he is working on legislation to make the city more eco-friendly and prioritizing equalizing pay and recently he worked with the City’s Chief of Police and community members and successfully formed the City’s first police chief advisory board.
Outside of his public service work, Alex is a soldier in the California Guard and an avid skateboarder.
