For California educators the goal is simple: Raise the bar and close the gap.

Through the adoption of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), more decision-making authority is being taken from Sacramento and given back to the individual districts, which international authority on educational reform Dr. Michael Fullan believes is an important step to improving our schools.

Fullan is a University of Toronto professor who has written extensively on educational change. He has been observing California education for 30 years.

We interviewed Fullan when he spoke at a recent meeting of a collaborative of school district superintendents and board chairs formed by California Forward and California School Board Association.
