When California Forward and the California Stewardship Network decided to host the first California Economic Summit, they knew it had to be different.
For the past twenty years there have been a number of attempts to create an agenda for California’s economy. Those reports have mostly been ignored.
One reason this Summit has an excellent chance for success is its “bottoms up” approach. Leaders from the state’s diverse regions have been meeting to define action that is needed to help spur job creation and increase the state’s economic competitiveness around the world.
The other reason for success is timing. California Stewardship Network founder Becky Morgan says the timing is right because Californians are all focused on the economy.
