California State Controller John Chiang recently unveiled a new website State Finances 101 to educate voters about the state’s financial systems. Complete with information on taxes, revenue and population data, the new website is a one-stop shop to learn how California collects and spends your money. Chiang wrote:
“As California’s State Controller and Chief Fiscal Officer, I believe that it is important for Californians to be able to easily find out where the State gets its money and how your tax dollars are spent. I hope this information will help you better understand the basics of California’s finances, where the bulk of taxes are spent, and the challenges we face during these difficult economic times.”
