Wildfire Call to Action

Today’s announcement of a $536 million funding plan for wildfire and forest resilience is precisely the type of early budget action needed to create healthy forests and protect countless lives and livelihoods. From prevention and the protection of natural resources to economic stimulus, the plan is a welcome and necessary step in the right direction.

California Forward (CA FWD) and the California Economic Summit have been longstanding advocates of urgent action and we’re encouraged to see that our California’s Wildfire Crisis: A Call To Action helped spur movement on this critical issue. We are pleased to join the broad coalition of environmental and conservancy groups, which urged this early action and are committed to continue moving forward solutions that balance equity, economic growth and environmental sustainability.

CA FWD congratulates Governor Gavin Newsom and the Legislature for their leadership and commitment to protecting Californians.
