CA Fwd Leadership Council co-chair and former Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg spoke to KCBS 740 AM in San Francisco this morning about how to break through the gridlock that has become commonplace in all levels of government – most notably state and national, where protracted budget standoffs have become a regular occurrence.
“You’ve got to start with understanding,” Hertzberg said. “The lawmakers are just reflecting frustration of the folks in the community.”
He also stressed, “It’s time for meat & potatoes politics. Go out into the communities – talk to the people, explain what’s going on, hear from them.”
