Last Friday, the courts handed another legal victory to the Citizen’s Redistricting Commission when U.S. District Court Judge Stephen Wilson dismissed the GOP-led challenge to the new district maps drawn last year by the non-partisan group.

A recent study by the Milken Institute that examined the out-migration of high-skilled California residents to other states arrived at some surprising conclusions that fly in the face of what many Californians have come to believe over the past few years.

Last week, the Governor issued his long awaited Executive Order on “common-sense budgeting methods.” Although the Executive Order has minor language variations from those used in SB 14 (which the Governor vetoed), the Executive Order will accomplish the same purpose and will lay the foundation for a major change in California state budgeting.
