As a Program Manager at California Forward, Dr. Pakhira supports high-impact programs focusing on catalyzing change through regional collaboration and developing the next generation of leaders. She is dedicated to advancing good governance and developing programs that promote inclusive economic growth across the state.
With over 10 years of experience in diverse educational settings across the U.S. and India, Dr. Pakhira is passionate about leveraging ethical technology and learning science to drive equitable outcomes. She has a strong track record in Equitable EdTech Strategy and Strategic Program Design, focusing on creating strategies that empower practitioners, youth, and families from historically marginalized communities.
Most recently, Dr. Pakhira served as a Research Manager at Digital Promise, where she held a multifaceted research and project leadership role. She managed a portfolio of federal and philanthropic research projects, supporting the Learning Sciences Research team by overseeing the community-based research network hubs that connected over 400 researchers, practitioners, developers, and policymakers to advance learning technologies. She is a noted contributor to discussions on AI and Education, publishing blogs, white papers, and journal articles to bridge the gap between research and practice.
Prior to Digital Promise, Dr. Pakhira was the Associate Director of Education at the Computer History Museum, where she developed and launched the K-12 digital learning initiative and led the museum-wide evaluation strategy.
Dr. Pakhira holds a doctoral degree in Chemistry from the University of Kansas and has several postdoctoral experiences in the Learning Sciences, grounding her work in both rigorous research and practical application for systemic change. She is driven by the belief that the most impactful change happens when strategy is community-driven and informed by evidence.
