More than a hundred people gathered in San Bernardino to highlight the assets and challenges of the Inland Empire region recently at the first Regions Rise Together strategy session. We captured some of the voices there in our latest video, covering the first in a series of events held across the state, beginning this year in inland regions of California.
The Regions Rise Together initiative began as a way to build a blueprint for inclusive and resilient economic development, sustainable land use and transportation planning across California and its diverse regions.
The process is designed to first gather input from regional leaders and then generate an action plan to achieve a more equitable and sustainable growth economy as well as to better connect the regions between each other and the State.
The initiative is led by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) and the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR). CA Fwd and the California Stewardship Network are partners in the effort to engage with regions and the preliminary findings and analysis will be a part of Governor Gavin Newsom's keynote address during the 2019 California Economic Summit in Fresno in November.
