John Bandek
John Bandek is the Economic Development Manager for the City of Moorpark and an experienced economic development professional with a track record of building and strengthening business and workforce development programs across Southern California. In Moorpark, he built the City’s economic development division from the ground up and spearheaded a shift toward a more business-friendly, service-oriented approach.
His work includes advancing customer service and permitting improvements and delivering measurable results in business retention, attraction, and outreach. Across both Moorpark and his prior role with the City of Glendale, John led the development of each city’s first-ever economic development strategy, supporting policies and programs advancing business growth,
revitalization, and economic resilience.
Over the course of his career, John has helped attract and expand more than 50 businesses across multiple industries, including notable successes such as Bombardier, Quantum Systems, and DrinkPAK, and has conducted over 500 business visits.
Prior to local government, John managed the 32-bed emergency department at Adventist Health Glendale. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Pepperdine University and remains actively engaged in regional economic development leadership, including chairing the Ventura County Economic Development Collaborative’s Economic Development Roundtable and serving on the Uplift Central Coast Advisory Council.
