Video: Leaders taking action locally to spur California economy

There’s no doubt about it—California’s economy—with an unemployment rate of 10.7%, still higher than the nation’s — is the single biggest issue people are talking about. In fact, for those who remain unemployed, it’s the only thing on their minds.

Los Angeles County’s recovery is a lot slower with an unemployment rate of 11.2%.

California Forward has been talking with our people around the state for four years now and their message is clear. People want to work and live the California dream.

How do we get California, with all its diverse regions, back on track? This is what local elected leaders and representatives from the business community, throughout Southern California discussed at the second annual City Economic Development Conference in Long Beach, sponsored by the L.A. Division of the League of California Cities.
