And so it begins. This morning’s regional dialogue with a group of civic-minded leaders from across the southern Central Coast is a major milestone for Speak Up for California, a series of conversations we’re having with communities across the state to generate ideas for fixing California’s government.
Hosted by California Forward and our regional partners, the Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County and the Community Environmental Council, this morning’s meeting in Santa Barbara gave civic-minded leaders from Monterey to Ventura an opportunity to share their thoughts on how we can make our government more efficient, more accountable — and bring it closer to the state’s voters.
