Patrick Jones

Entrepreneur and Management Consultant: Patrick is currently the Founder and CEO of VOCATIO, an award-winning, innovative insurgent in the talent scouting and sourcing domain for interns and postgrad hires.

VOCATIO is a vocationally themed media network and talent marketplace to help students 16-24 yrs old navigate their way through school to a passionate and purposeful career of their choice.

Since 2002, Patrick has operated as an entrepreneur and independent management consultant on several diverse new media, technology and software industry related projects for such clients as Atlanta Gas & Light, Promethean, Turner Entertainment, Manheim/AutoTrader, Coca Cola and BellSouth (now AT&T). Prior to 2002, he was a Partner with Siebel Systems (now Oracle), a Principal at Diamond Technology Partners (acquired by PwC) and Senior Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Patrick started his professional career in Georgia in 1988 in the field of
politics, including a year as the state GOP Deputy Political Director. Over the last 20 years, he has worked on numerous national and local political campaigns, has met Presidents Reagan, Bush (41) and Bush (43), and was an alternate delegate to the 1992 national Republican convention.

Patrick was a panelist in President George W. Bush’s National Economic Summit in 2002, and Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue’s Racial Reconciliation Panel in 2003. Patrick was also a member of Governor Sonny Perdue’s Commission for a New Georgia Task Force and an appointed Commissioner to the Georgia State Film, Video & Music Commission. In addition, he was a board member for the Georgia Public Policy Foundation for several years. He also previously worked as the Director of Programs for the widow of Martin
Luther King, Jr., Coretta Scott King, at the MLK, Jr. Federal Holiday Commission. Patrick is a graduate scholar of the Coverdell Leadership Institute founded by former Georgia U.S. Senator Paul Coverdell and the Conservative Policy Leadership Institute. He served on the Board of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and is a member of the 2013 class of Leadership Atlanta.

As an increasingly sought after public speaker and workshop presenter, Patrick has been invited to speak to more than 75 college and corporate audiences on a variety of topics such as innovation, digital media, social entrepreneurship, political activism and diversity matters.

Patrick is particularly passionate about inspiring and empowering students to make a difference in the world. His infectious enthusiasm for life and his more than 15 years of practical experience, as both an entrepreneur and consultant to business management and public policymakers, motivates him to help individuals become more successful than they would by themselves. His willingness to be transparent about both his successes and failures in life has led to feature appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Café Central and Turner Broadcasting’s Atlanta Interactive.

Among Patrick’s many vocational life adventures was his work with Journey
Productions, an entertainment company based in Atlanta whose mission was to “develop and produce programming full of wisdom, humor and inspiration that motivates people to live extraordinary lives.” As the Executive Producer, his SXSW award-winning film, The Journey, become a favorite of both college campuses and corporate events including corporate-wide private screenings for Coca-Cola, Nike, General Mills, Cox Communications, UBS Warburg and Fast Company Magazine. In 2000, Patrick facilitated one of the earliest new media deals on the web through a unique music and film tour, and through the development of an internet mini-series produced in partnership with Atomfilms.com (MTV) and VW. In 2007, Patrick facilitated a $2.2M co-production and distribution deal with The Hallmark Channel and Faith and Values Media for the film based on the book, The Note, by award-winning author Angela Hunt.

Patrick received his M.B.A. from Duke University and his B.A. in Economics and minor in Political Science from Miami University. Patrick is married to Michele Cacdac Jones and together they have a daughter, Savanna. In his spare time he enjoys the fruity cocktails, the beach, working out, and basketball.
