Charles Gardiner is Senior Policy Advisor for CA Fwd and a program manager, facilitator, and communications consultant with more than 30 years of experience working with government, business, and communities to develop and implement water, natural resources, and infrastructure policies, programs, and projects. He has assisted federal, state, regional, and local agencies develop and implement programs that advance sustainable, integrated management of water supplies, fisheries, levees, groundwater, and climate adaptation. Charles is working for California Forward and the California Economic Summit to advance “regions up” water resources sustainability strategies to close California’s water needs gaps for people and the environment. He is working with leaders across the state to identify and advance policy enhancements in governance, funding, and regulatory alignment that will accelerate necessary actions and investments in sustainable, regional water management. In other efforts, Charles is supporting implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, river and Delta restoration, and sea level rise adaptation. Charles has a degree in Chemistry and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
