Criminal Justice Roundtable: Accountable Law Enforcement

THURSDAY, AUGUST 6
1:30-3 p.m. PST / 4:30-6 p.m. EST

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing is changed until it is faced.” These timeless words from James Baldwin ring true today. As the country continues to witness the killings of unarmed people – especially Black and Latino men and women – how can we create a system that holds the perpetrators directly accountable rather than penalizing everyone including the residents of the cities in which the victims live?

Through CA Fwd’s Justice System Change Initiative we have worked for many years to help counties transform their incarceration practices to better advance public safety and equity while making government more efficient and accountable.

Building on this effort to improve our state’s criminal justice systems, please join CA Fwd, the Cato Institute, and leading experts for an important discussion on a new model that can help increase accountability for misconduct among law enforcement.
